How did Jesus Fulfill the Old Testament Jewish spring Feasts?

Feasts - ‘appointed times’

1) Passover

One Day

- 14th day of month on Jewish calendar
- (Nisan 14 - March/April)
- at twilight (6pm)
- 1st Day of Unleavened Bread
- male, unblemished lamb from father’s household    killed
- blood placed on door posts at twilight (6pm)
- eat with unleavened bread
- body disposed of before morning
- darkness over Egypt for 3 days

Northern Palestinean Jews

- sunrise to sunrise
- (Galilee, Jesus, Pharisees)

Southern Palestinean Jews

- sunset to sunset
- (Jerusalem, Priests, Sadducees)

Romans

- day begins at midnight

2) Unleavened Bread

Seven Days

- 15th day of month on Jewish calendar
- (Nisan 15 to 21 - March/April)
- eaten over 7 days, starting in evening
- no work - 1st + 7th days

Unleavened

- ‘bread or cake without leaven’

Leaven

-“sour, embittered/ruthless, cruel, oppress/symbol of    evil’

Food
Bread
Eat/ate
Drink

- ‘that which refreshes / nourishes the soul’
- ‘food of any kind’
- ‘consume’
- ‘to receive into the soul what serves to refresh
   strengthen, + nourish it to life eternal
