The importance & purpose of communion
body - corpse; used of a (large or small) # of men closely united into one society or family (a social, ethical, or mystical body) 
cup - one's lot or experience, whether joyess or adverse, favorable or unfavorable, or prosperity or adversity
given thanks (verb)(Gr: "eucharisteó") - to be grateful, feel thankful
blood - of a man or animals; bloodshed; refers to seat of life
covenant - testament or will, arrangement, contract
drink - to receive into the soul what serves to refresh, strengthen, "nourish" it onto eternal life
ate - to eat, feed, dine, metaph - to "devour, consume"
bread - figuratively, food or any kind, nourishment
flesh - life, carnal; nature of man
food - the act of eating, the soul's "food", either that "refreshes" the soul, or "nourishes" it & supports it
